About us
Bell & Bell was founded in 1970 by Dr. David Bell, a lifelong resident of Frankfort. In 1998, his son, Joseph Bell, graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and joined the practice. Today, Drs. Bell & Bell offer all types of basic and specialized dental care to people of all ages in a warm, customer-oriented environment. From semi-annual checkups, cleanings and X-Rays to teeth whitening, crowns, veneers and restoring implants, Drs. Bell & Bell have the training, expertise and experience to care for your smile.
We go to great lengths to ensure that you actually enjoy your visit to our office. You will be treated with dignity and respect, and you will be a partner and decision maker in your dental care. We look forward to seeing your smile soon!

Nervous about pain?
Like most dentists, we often get questions about the possibility of pain during our procedures. If you’re nervous about your treatment, please let us know. We use the most modern anesthetics, techniques and procedures to minimize pain. In fact, once you decide to have dental treatment, we will make very effort to ensure your comfort.
We also know that many patients are concerned about getting injections, and we take steps to minimize your concerns. In fact, most of our new patients express surprise after their first injection. They often say things like, “Is that it?” or “Aren’t you going to use a needle?” That's because we are concerned and take time to deliver gentle care. |
Imagine how different you would look with straighter, whiter teeth. Now imagine that you can have both of these – in the form of a new smile - within one month from your first visit to our office. Patients who have their teeth whitened and/or straightened through the newest professional aesthetic dentistry techniques inevitably say, “Wow!” because they are absolutely amazed at the difference a natural looking new smile can make.
At Bell & Bell, we want you to understand what a new smile can do for you, but we are not here to pressure you to do anything to your teeth. In fact, every decision is up to you: We are merely your consultants, and we serve you on a personal basis. And because we schedule ample time with each patient and handle only a reasonable number of patients each day, we can take time to listen to your concerns, discuss the various treatment options available to you, and make sure you feel comfortable about (and during) your treatment, all without rushing you in and out of our office. We specialize in personal care.
Of course, our practice is not limited only to making your teeth look better. We are dentists, after all, and we recognize – as should you - the importance of dental health. In fact, recent studies confirm earlier findings indicating that the health of your teeth can directly affect your overall health. For example, gum disease can affect your cardiovascular health and diabetes. Believe it or not, pregnant women with gum disease are more likely to have premature or low-birthweight babies. Clearly, a dentist’s role can no longer be confined to the mouth – your dental health is critical to your overall well-being.

Bell & Bell offers a wide range of dental services, including:
Tooth-colored fillings
Many people have had silver (amalgam) fillings for several years. As these fillings age, it may become necessary to replace them. When replacement does become necessary, an aesthetic, tooth-colored alternative is often preferred, and it is far more attractive than the existing filling. We can use a variety of materials to replace your fillings, from basic tooth-colored material to custom fabricated porcelain, with the decision depending on your specific situation and desires.
Crowns
A crown, or cap, can be placed over a tooth if the majority of the natural tooth is missing, decayed, fractured or filled. Crowns can be made of a variety of materials, depending on your situation. However, the goal is always to return strength, longevity and health to the tooth.
Veneers
Television shows like Extreme Makeover and Ten Years Younger have caused a great deal of excitement about porcelain veneers. The amazing transformations often seen on shows like these reveal how easy it can be to completely transform your smile. Chances are your smile can be renewed just like the people on these television shows, and it is not as expensive as you might think. We can change dark, crooked teeth into a bright, white, straight and confident smile, many times in just two visits. Whether we’re working on just a few teeth or your entire smile, this new technology can improve many dental concerns and transform your appearance. If you have any interest in rejuvenating your smile, please ask our doctors or staff to discuss the possibilities with you. To learn more about this exciting technology, visit http://www.getempress.com/patient_home.html.
Implants
There is hope for those who are missing one or more teeth! In fact, modern dental technology allows for the permanent replacement of those missing teeth with dental implants. Implants are a very appealing alternative because they are permanent, decay-resistant, and are made to match your other teeth in color and size.
In brief, a dental implant is a small, medical grade titanium cylinder (or post) which is placed in the gap left by a missing tooth. Once this post is fixed in place, we can place a crown, or artificial tooth, on the implanted post. This solution is available for a variety of situations, from one missing tooth to complete tooth loss. Dental implants are one of the best advances in dental technology available.
